Individual & Couples Therapist 

Dr. Boateng, a native of California, is a licensed professional counselor with an emphasis in individual and couples therapy. She has trained at multiple acute and outpatient facilities across the Tennessee Valley, including the North Alabama Regional State Hospital and the Homicide Survivors Recovery Program. After receiving a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Alabama A&M University, she utilized her training to provide cognitive-behavioral therapy as one of the primary adult therapists in an outpatient clinic. She also has experience as a psychological examiner, conducting intelligence and psychological testing, for private practices.  

With 10 years of experience in clinical practice and education, she specializes in an integrative approach to treating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, work concerns, grief, couple and relationship issues and several other emotional concerns. Due to her passion for relationships and couple work, she completed a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at Eastern University in Philadelphia, PA. She presently works in private practice in South Philadelphia. Dr. Boateng’s desire is for individuals to overcome their personal obstacles that often create barriers in relationships. She works with clients to take ownership of their emotional health, become aware of unhealthy patterns and work toward a more authentic existence so that they can partner well.

Dr. Boateng is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the American Counseling Association, the Christian Association for Psychological Studies and Prepare-Enrich (a relationship inventory program).
